Situated at a thirteen-kilometre distance from Thirunelly is the renowned Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary Wayanad. Tholpetty Wayanad is on the road leading to Kodagu in Karnataka. However, Wayanad Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuary is situated on the lower end of Muthanga wildlife. Tholpetty is the second wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad and borders the Nagarhole sanctuary in Karnataka. Located in North Wayanad, Tholpetty offers good spotting of elephants, bison, langurs, deer and if you are lucky, the tiger.
